Avian Influenza
A聽Scotland-wide Avian Influenza Protection Zone is now in force.聽 This introduces stringent biosecurity measures for all bird keepers to help prevent the spread of disease from wild birds.聽 聽The map below shows high risk areas.

More information for you and聽your clients聽.聽聽While registration of flocks is mandatory for keepers with more than 50 birds, those with fewer birds are still encouraged to register voluntarily so they can be contacted quickly in the event of a local disease outbreak.
Local Surveillance Report
聽for a summary of cases from 伊人直播's Inverness and Thurso DSCs聽of note from September.聽 Although clinical pathology samples are now all handled in our central laboratory, local oversight of these cases persists, and these updates give us the opportunity to share the findings with our local submitting vets.
National Surveillance Reports
伊人直播 Veterinary Services and colleagues from APHA 聽work together to carry out national animal disease surveillance for the whole of the UK.聽 One of the outputs from this are quarterly disease surveillance reports.聽The most recent cattle and sheep reports were published in late September and are at the links below.聽 They contain a wealth of information relevant to farm animal practitioners and we hope provide an informative read.聽
