Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) is an alternative route for adult learners and mature students to get into university or college.

ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ accepts relevant SWAP Access programmes.

Degree courses which require 4 Scottish Highers at BBCC require a minimum grade profile of BBC. Degree courses which require 4 Scottish Highers at BBBB require a minimum grade profile of BBB. HNC/D courses which require 2 Scottish Highers at CC require a grade profile of CCC.

Degree courses which require 4 Scottish Highers at BBCC require 4 Irish Leaving Certificate subjects at Higher Level at H3, H3, H3, H3. Degree courses which require 4 Scottish Highers at BBBB require 4 Irish Leaving Certificate subjects at Higher Level at H2, H2, H3, H3. HNC/D courses which require 2 Scottish Highers at CC require 2 Leaving Certificate subjects at Higher Level at H3, H4.

Degree courses which require 4 Scottish Highers at BBCC require 3 A-Levels at BCC. Degree courses which require 4 Scottish Highers at BBBB require 3 A-Levels at BBB. HNC/D courses which require 2 Scottish Highers at CC require 2 A-Levels at DE.

ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ will consider BTEC qualifications individually or in combination with other Level 3 qualifications depending on the qualification type.

For courses that typically require a science A Level, BTEC Applied Science qualifications will be considered as an acceptable science qualification.

Unfortunately, BTEC qualifications are not considered for entry to the BVSci Veterinary Science programme.

Applicants offering a relevant T Level qualification are considered individually on their merits and academic background. Please contact ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥â€™s Admissions Team (admissions@sruc.ac.uk) to discuss further.Ìý

GCSE qualifications are equivalent to SQA National 5 qualifications. The majority of ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ courses will ask for English and Maths at GCSE/N5 level (some courses may ask for additional subjects (e.g. a Science); ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ requires GCSE subjects to be passes with Grades A/9-C/4). Applicants offering a relevant Foundation Degree are considered individually on their merits and academic background. Where offers are made these are based on completion of the full qualification and entry to Year 3 of a degree is on compatibility and performance.

Achievement of the IB Diploma is accepted in fulfilment of general entry requirements for degree programmes. Where specific subjects are required, these should have been taken to Higher level.

Degree courses which require 4 Scottish Highers at BBCC require an overall score of 28 with 555 in Higher subjects. Degree courses which require 4 Scottish Highers at BBBB require an overall score of 32 with 655 in Higher subjects.

Higher level English language study within the diploma, along with confirmation of ability to manage the English-taught programme at ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ in the accompanying reference, will normally satisfy our English language entry requirements. Ideally, however, those speaking English as a second language should sit an IELTS examination prior to application.

Those applying from out with the UK must sit a formal English Language exam as part of the visa process and achieving an appropriate IELTS score (or equivalent) will be one of the conditions of acceptance.

While the above holds generally true, baccalaureate students are considered on a case-by-case basis, so we recommend that as much information as possible is provided on your application.

Achievement of the European Baccalaureate with a minimum score of 70% is accepted in fulfilment of general entry requirements for degree programmes. Where specific subjects are required, a minimum score of 7 must be achieved in this subject.

Those who studied the Baccalaureate in English may not be required to provide further proof of English language ability – please contact the Admissions Team (admissions@sruc.ac.uk) for clarification. Those speaking English as a second language to whom the Baccalaureate was not taught in English, will be required to provide evidence of completing an English language test (e.g. IELTS).
