Following the success of last year’s ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ Alumni Farmers Market, we’re delighted to announce its return to this year’s Royal Highland Show.

Come along, meet our alumni business owners, and discover the fantastic range of products they have to offer. From berrylicious tart jelly made with hand-picked fruit grown on an Aberdeenshire farm, to beautifully soft mohair yarn produced in Fife, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Sample the honeyberry, Scotland’s remarkable home-grown superfruit, treat yourself to delicious locally grown strawberries and cream, and explore a variety of other high-quality products from our talented alumni producers.

We look forward to welcoming you to the market and celebrating the innovation, passion, and success of our alumni community.

Coo-Operation

Learn all about cows and their biology with a cow model, based on the board game Operation.

Explore our interactive data lab, showcasing a variety of digital innovation projects across ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥, along with showcasing PhD student research.​

Digital Dairy Chain: SMARTStem & Grouse Fibres

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday: all day

The Digital Dairy Chain are working in partnership with SMARTStem to showcase a range of interactive activities, including a milk analysing machine and their famous 'Kaley the Coo' - educating everyone on the inner workings of a cow's digestive system.

Grouse Fibres will also be in attendance to showcase their work with waste milk to produce a dairy based compost. This is an amazing example of the circular economy in action in an innovative way.

ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ Equestrian drop-in

Sunday: 10am - 3pm

Stop in on Sunday for our equestrian drop-in day with Horse Scotland to meet the riders, learn more about access to the equestrian world, and animal welfare.

ONE SeedPod food & drink samples

Learn about our partnership with ONE SeedPod and sample some of the delicious new food and drink created there, by companies including:

Innovation Centres: SeaGrass & Vertical farm

Learn about the ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ vertical farm - the first commercial-sized vertical farm in Scotland, with our vertical farm cubes. Explore the ways a vertical farm can impact farming and sustainability for the better, the impact vertical farming has on the natural economy, and how we're using our vertical farm in ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ courses and research. Presented by the ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ Crop Science Innovation Centre.

You can also learn all about our work and research in aquaculture, with our Seaweed Tank display.

Mini golf

Admire a beautiful landscape designed by the ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ School of Natural and Social Sciences while learning more about what they offer. Also, learn all about our thermal imaging drone.

Our Student Recruitment team will be at the ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ stand all day, every day, handing out lots of free goodies and answering any questions you have. 

SAC customer lounge

SAC Consulting customers have been invited to join the consulting team for food and drinks, and an opportunity to chat to our consultants.

Soil sounds

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday: all day

Listen to the different sounds bugs and critters make in soil. We will also be highlighting research on sounds under the sea and bird songs.

ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences: What did my pet swallow?

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday: all day

Alongside information about the courses available for aspiring veterinary students of all levels, the ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences will also feature a helpful activity of what your pet may have swallowed.

We'll also have the Vet Services team onsite to tell you why it's important to test rather than guess when it comes to treating livestock.​ And the Animal Science team will be highlighting the importance of antimicrobial resistance testing.

Welding simulator

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday: all day

Try your hand at welding with our skills and work-based learning team’s welding simulator, complete with daily weld-offs and prizes for top scorers.

We will also have a touch screen TV that shows you all angles of a tractor engine.
