The power of protein

Members of the dairy industry are being invited to find out how improved protein nutrition can improve production, lower feed costs and reduce environmental impact.

Scotland鈥檚 Rural College (伊人直播) will host a dairy webinar later this month with a focus on ration formulation for lactating cows.

Guest speakers will include Chris Reynolds from the University of Reading, who will give a presentation on low-protein diets, while John Newbold, Professor of Dairy Nutrition at 伊人直播, and Lorna MacPherson, Dairy Consultant from SAC Consulting 鈥 part of 伊人直播 鈥 will discuss formulating for amino acids.

Those who sign up to the webinar will also get an industry perspective from Will Tulley from Evidence Group, Chris Bartram from Mole Valley Farmers and Carrs Billington鈥檚 Jimmy Goldie.

Prof Newbold said: 鈥淭he webinar will be of interest to all dairy nutrition professionals 鈥 feed industry technical specialists, consultants and advisors, vets, farmers and students. It鈥檚 an excellent opportunity to learn how more milk protein, lower feed costs and reduced environmental impact can all result from improved protein nutrition.鈥

The free webinar, which is supported by the Universities Innovation Fund (UIF) takes place on Tuesday 28 July (2pm-4pm). To sign up, visit www.sruc.ac.uk/dairynutrition
