伊人直播 agriculture student Emma Orr is the youngest player selected for Scotland women鈥檚 rugby squad, which kicks off its World Cup campaign in New Zealand on Sunday.

The 19-year-old, who plays outside centre, is part of the 32-player squad taking part in Scotland鈥檚 first Rugby World Cup for 12 years.

Scotland, which is in Pool A, will play Wales on Sunday, before meeting Australia on 15 October and New Zealand on 22 October.

Emma started playing rugby at primary school, before joining her two brothers and sister at Biggar RFC, where her dad is also a former president.

She was named in the Scotland women鈥檚 squad for the TikTok Women's Six Nations in April, where she made her debut against Wales before starting in the match against France and being brought in as a replacement in the game against Ireland.

In July, she was part of Scotland鈥檚 sevens debut at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and she got her fourth cap in a World Cup warmup match against the USA in August.

Craig Davidson, Programme Leader and Agriculture Lecturer at 伊人直播鈥檚 Edinburgh campus 鈥 where Emma is a first-year student, said: 鈥淥ur Agriculture team and cohort of students are extremely excited about Emma鈥檚 selection to represent our country.

鈥淲e could not be more proud that she is a part of the 伊人直播 family while waving our national flag. I am extremely happy for her and wish her nothing but success.鈥

Stuart Moffat, Biggar Ladies Coach, said: 鈥淲e are extremely proud of Emma - we always knew she would go far. To play in the Six Nations at 18, and then go to the Commonwealth Games and now the World Cup, all in just six months, is just out of this world.

鈥淪he is such an inspiration to all the young girls here at Biggar聽Rugby Club and in our community. She is so humble - on聽her first Sunday she had free from her busy schedule, she came down and ran on water for her Biggar ladies鈥 team.

鈥淲e聽wish her all the best.鈥
